Purse Essentials for Riding in Dad’s Car!

We love dad’s car. It’s newer, it’s sleeker, it’s got all the bells and whistles and it’s absolutely always cleaner than mine. What we don’t love is that dad never keeps anything we need in that snazzy car of his. So, we created this handy purse essentials kit and filled it with items that keep us prepared (and healthy!) when we’re on the go with dad.

I can’t tell you how many times someone has spilled or sneezed or gotten hurt and we had absolutely nothing to take care of it in my husband’s car. I mean, not even a napkin! And, I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to come up with this idea! I found everything I needed at Walmart and picked it all up in one quick trip. There were some staples on my list as well as a couple of new finds. Here are a few of the highlights:

  • Advil Tablet Vial. Don’t you just love this handy little vial? I always have one in my purse and now I have one in dad’s car ;-). You can use Advil tablets for headaches, minor arthritis and other joint pain, muscle aches and pains of the common cold. It’s definitely a go-to when we’re out and about and mom’s stress turns into mom’s headache pain.
  • ChapStick Total Hydration. There must be lip balm and this new ChapStick is an advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rose hip oils. Goodbye, dry lips.
  • Emergen-C Immune + Chewables. We’ve been Emergen-C fans forever and why not carry it along!? I’ll be grabbing it at the first sneeze for immune support. It’s a great addition to our essentials pouch and our medicine cabinet.

I’ve tossed everything in and decided to put it right by the door where we can always grab it. It fits nicely in his glove compartment as well, so maybe I’ll just make two just in case!

I’m sure life in dad’s car will be a little less stressful because of our essentials pouch. Let’s just hope I can keep it stocked! Again, you can find all of my purse essentials at Walmart. The scrolling photo’s below will show you exactly where.

  • The MamaZone: Advil Tablet Vial at Walmart
  • The MamaZone: Chapstick Total Hydration at Walmart
  • The MamaZone: Emergen-C Immune Chewables at Walmart

Now, I’m curious: what’s life like when traveling in your husband’s car–do you have what you need or are the essentials missing? Let’s chat about it in the comments or on Facebook and Twitter and if you decide to create your own pouch, I’d love to hear about it!

  • Great idea! We never have anything when we take my husband’s truck. I would definitely have ChapStick and Advil in our kit – those are two items that I always seem to reach for when we go out! {client}
