Motherhood is full of lessons and sometimes, I’m open to learning them. Here’s what I picked up last week in this week’s edition of What Mama Learned.
This was a much better round of lessons than last week. If you missed that horrible story, check it out now.
You gotta get away.
My guy and I ran away for a night and it was a good reminder of how important it is to do that. We didn’t go far and didn’t stay long, but the act of planning for and following through on an overnight getaway was incredibly rewarding. It’s not always easy to pull off, but here’s a nudge in your direction if you know you need to spend some quality time with your other half. You’re here for a reason.
This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’ve been “called” to do. For those of you unfamiliar with that word, it’s a phrase we Christians throw around that basically means “what God has chosen you to do.” I believe we’re all on this planet for a purpose and it’s essential to find out what that is and follow through. I’ve been remarkably lazy in this area for quite some time, but I made considerable traction in getting off my butt last week. I’m certain there will be great things on the other side of this and hope to have some exciting things to share soon.
I’m not a dance mom.
This is not a new lesson, but it comes around about this time every year. Hats off to all the other moms who sat through those incredibly long recital rehearsals and an equally long recital. All I can say is that I’m glad we didn’t have to suffer through competition season this year and I’m glad recital weekend is over.
And so ends another week of lessons. Visit tomorrow to meet Monday’s Mom and if you haven’t already taken advantage of the free gift and $10 credit at Grove Collaborative, click the banner below.
