In about sixty days, my sweet husband and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary. I know you can’t believe it since I don’t look a day over 29, but it is true. We have indeed been married that long.
And, just in case our friends are painstakingly searching for unique anniversary gifts, I thought I’d write this post sharing a few of our favorites (I’m totally kidding–they know we don’t want anything!). I do have a super-awesome wishlist of couples’ gifts from UncommonGoods, though. It’s one of my favorite places to find unique gifts and I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite products with you.
At the top of the list is their mixtape gear. The Personalized Mixtape Pillow is shown above and the Mixtape Glasses on my table came courtesy of UncommonGoods as well (I love the accompanying wax pencil for writing on the glass). The Personalized Mixtape Doormat rounds out their mixtape collection. They take me back to the days of love notes and cassettes marked “Slow Jams.” Perfect anniversary gifts.

If you’re buying gifts for couples who aren’t as nostalgic about trends from the 80s and 90s, skip my mixtape recommendations and go on to some of the other clever gifts. I like the Love Letter Napkins, The Couples Letter Book, The Intersection of Love Photo Print and the Personalized Wine Boxes. Find all those wedding and anniversary gifts here and be prepared to get absolutely engulfed by the site. There is so much to choose from, you’ll have a hard time narrowing it down. You might end up buying multiple items as a result–you’ve been warned ;-).
Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, UncommonGoods is a privately-owned retailer that endeavors to feature unique designs and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment and without harm to animals or people.
More reasons they’re awesome:
- They run all their operations out of the historic Brooklyn Army Terminal
- Their lowest-paid seasonal workers start at 50% above the minimum wage
- They make it a mission to support and provide a platform for artists and designers
- Half of what they sell is handmade
- Most of the products they carry are made in the USA
- About one-third of our entire collection incorporates recycled and/or upcycled materials
It’s such a great site, that I’m whipping out an icon you haven’t seen in a while. That’s right, I’m giving UncommonGoods the coveted “Mama’s Fave” stamp. That hasn’t happened in a while (and doesn’t happen often) but it’s definitely appropriate. Hop over and find something special for someone special in your life, then come back and let me know what you grabbed!
