Motherhood is full of lessons and sometimes, I’m open to learning them. Here’s what I picked up last week in this week’s edition of What Mama Learned.
You have to choose to move forward.
I’m fresh off the heels of a week where I began to make some new and necessary choices. And, as I contemplate it all, I realize that there is just as much power in making the choice as there is in making the first step. Choosing gets the ball rolling. It directs my thoughts and gets the synapses firing in the right direction so my feet can get moving in the right direction. As I say to my children, “life is all about choices.” So, make the choice to keep moving forward, then take a step and know that even the smallest step counts as you journey toward your dreams.
Four score and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth a new nation.
Technically, I didn’t learn that last week, but we were finally able to cross this off our homeschool list as my son finished memorizing the Gettysburg address. It was fun to watch him learn and fun to help him pull together a final video presentation. He’s always been an Abe Lincoln fan, so that definitely helped him meet the challenge. I’m quite proud of him, so check out his final project.
We love to tinker.
And I love when we tinker with Tinker Crate. I’m all about hands-on learning and my kids tend to excel when they can work with their hands. Enter this giveaway for a chance to win a 3 month subscription to Tinker Crate, Koala Crate, Kiwi Crate or Doodle Crate. Plus, check out the video of our Tinker Crate fun while you’re there.
And that concludes another week. I’d love to hear what you’ve learned so let’s chat about it in the comments below!
