What Mama Learned Last Week

Motherhood is full of lessons and sometimes, I’m open to learning them. Here’s what I picked up last week in this week’s edition of  What Mama Learned.

You really just never know.

Our town was hit by a tornado last week and while we were safe, there was considerable damage just a mile away. I was completely surprised the storm hit so close to home (you never think it will, do you?). It was proof that it’s clearly better to be safe than sorry because you really never know when those storm warnings will turn into actual storms.

The MamaZone: Tornado Clean-up

Watching them repair walls and clean up debris has definitely made an impression. First, I’m extremely grateful our home and neighborhood were untouched and I’m also thinking about the importance of staying prepared, listening to warnings and getting through storms. It’s a life lesson that goes beyond tornados and storm watches. I’m thankful for the lesson (and for our safety).

Sometimes the road to “simple” can be quite complicated.

I like simple. It’s no coincidence that my blog is aimed at making mama’s life easier. Unfortunately, easy is not always easy to get to. Last week was one of those weeks that made that clear, and, although it would be easy to do, I refuse to give up.
